Meet Dynamic Driver Rob Greely

Rob Greely has a nontraditional path to trucking compared to most drivers on the road. Based out of the Lake of the Ozarks area of Missouri now, his speech still holds some of the soft, rounded vowels from growing up in Northern Wisconsin. A self-described jack of all trades, Rob ran his own businesses as a carpenter, electrician, and HVAC expert for more than 30 years.

The 2008 housing market crash hit Rob hard and a series of personal setbacks among his family added to the mounting stress. After struggling to find his footing again, Rob settled on a completely different path. Truck driving had always appealed to him, but it didn’t seem a good fit for him while raising a family. With the children grown and out of the house, Rob went to trucking school.

He says Dynamic Transit took a chance on him, hiring him straight out of trucking school, but he’s glad they did. He’ll have been with the company and on the road four years in September. He stays out about 4-6 weeks at a stretch, preferring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest in the spring and summer.

“Everybody has the main goal of making Dynamic successful. It runs like a well-oiled machine.”

Four years with the same boss is a long stretch for someone who hasn’t had a boss in 30 years. Rob credits Dynamic Transit owners Fred and Michele for running a company that stands up to their word. He appreciates that Dynamic really is a personable smaller company where he isn’t counted as a number. “They treat you like family with respect, kindness, and dignity,” Rob confirms. “There’s a lot to be said for that.”

As a loner who generally observes from the sidelines and reserves trust in others for a sparse few, Rob appreciates how Fred and Michele provide for their drivers and lead the entire company. “Everybody has the main goal of making Dynamic successful. It runs like a well-oiled machine.”

Rob testifies the company keeps him in the best trucks with all of the comforts of home he needs while out on those long stretches, and they give him plenty of miles while he’s out. “They’ll give you every mile you can swallow” while noting that he has already covered 4200 miles this week. “Fred and Michele have a whole lot of freight to keep you rolling. Very rarely do you sit still with Dynamic.”

Rob is looking forward to retiring with Dynamic in another 12-15 years, but in the meantime, he’s going to keep running the nights. The roads at night are a great place for a driver who seeks solitude – less traffic, less hassle, and no rush hours. To keep himself alert, he relies on a gallon of coffee, Sirius XM radio, and talking to others on the CB, but mostly, it’s the satisfaction of being on his own out there and knowing Dynamic is there behind him.
